NORTHERN DAIRY EXPO
2016
Press Release - 4th May 2016
David Gray to judge Northern Expo 2016
The 2016 show will be held on Thursday 20th October
once again at Borderway Mart. This year’s judge will be David
Gray.
David has travelled the length and breadth of the cattle-breeding
world, but his roots are firmly established in Scotland. The family
business is based at Drumtall Farm, East Kilbride, near Glasgow.
His parents, James and Moira, dispersed their 50-cow herd in 2010
at Borderway and the decision allowed David to revamp the traditional
farm buildings. David is married to Julie, and the pair have two
young children, Callum and Erica. Mr Gray runs and owns Hoof and
Hyde Ltd. a farm service business providing farmers with an excellent
hoof trimming and freeze branding service.
David was involved in Young Farmers and Holstein Young Breeders
competitions at an early age and won the Scottish as well as, the
All-Britain clipping competition in 1994.
David’s reputation to breed, rear and develop top quality
show animals is well known having fitted many Champions across
the world. He owned the 2013 All-Britain heifer Drointon Tabwyn
Holly.
David has judged at many major shows in the UK and Ireland. He
officiated at the 2009 Dairy Event and more recently judged the
2015 Irish National Calf show.
For the incoming year Robert Butterfield and Glyn Lucas were voted
in as Chairman and Vice respectively. This year the committee has
a new secretary, Anna Stable.
Further details for the show will
be available soon, but if anyone is interested in being one of
the 2016 show sponsors or has any enquiries regarding the show
please contact Anna on the below details. |
